do i need to fast?
Most lab tests do not require fasting. Check your selected lab pages for fasting instructions. All hormone tests require fasting, and the NutrEval test requires a urine sample first thing in the morning (kit must be picked up the day before your scheduled lab draw).
How much do the labs cost?
Most of our labs are cash-pay only, including the NutrEval test, the MRT Food Sensitivity test, the Methylation panel, and the Cardio Check test. The Hormone panel and G6PD test may be filed with insurance, or will be billed to the client directly from Quest Diagnostics. We also accept HSA and FSA cards.
Can I file with insurance?
Only the G6PD and Hormone tests have the option of filing with insurance. Please contact your provider to verify eligibility and potential out of pocket expenses. Vitalife is not responsible for additional expenses that may occur when filing with insurance. If you do not wish to file with insurance, we take cash, credit card, and HSA and FSA cards.
How long does it take for results?
G6PD and Hormone tests typically have a 3-5 day turnaround. The MRT Food Sensitivity test is usually around 5-7 days, and the NutrEval, Cardio, and Methylation panels from Genova may take up to 14 days. Holidays and unannounced disruptions may delay results.
When can i schedule a draw?
All lab draws are performed Monday through Friday, 10:00am through 5:30pm. Call ahead for draws around major holidays. No tests can be drawn on weekends.
What if I have my own testing kit?
Vitalife will perform blood draws for clients who bring in their own testing kits for a flat lab draw fee of $25. These kits are usually obtained from nutritionists, dieticians, and other nutritional professionals. Vitalife reserves the right to refuse lab draws from unknown vendors.
Who performs the blood draws?
All tests performed at the clinic will be drawn by a registered nurse highly experienced in lab draws and infusions.
Can i receive other treatments?
Yes! You may even schedule an infusion at the same time as your lab draw – the nurse will simply use the same catheter used for the lab draw for your IV.
do i need to book a consult?
No – consultations are not required prior to receiving a lab test. In fact, it is recommended that you receive your lab draw prior to scheduling a consultation, especially for hormone therapy. All lab tests include a follow-up consultation in the price to go over your results and recommended treatment options.
