Sermorelin Peptide Therapy

Sermorelin peptide therapy is a medical treatment that involves the use of a synthetic peptide called sermorelin acetate. This peptide acts on the pituitary gland to stimulate the production of growth hormone (GH) in the body. Growth hormone is essential for various bodily functions, including cell growth, tissue repair, metabolism regulation, and maintaining healthy body composition.
Low growth hormone (GH) levels, a condition known as growth hormone deficiency (GHD), can lead to various physical and psychological symptoms. Some common symptoms of low growth hormone levels include chronic fatigue, loss of strength and muscle mass, increased body fat, cognitive and emotional changes, thin and dried skin, and poor healing and recovery.
The long-term safety of sermorelin therapy is still being studied. Since sermorelin aims to stimulate the body’s natural production of growth hormone, it’s generally considered to have a lower risk of negative long-term effects compared to direct growth hormone supplementation.
Sermorelin peptide therapy, when administered under the supervision of a qualified medical professional and in appropriate dosages, is generally considered safe for many individuals.
Dr. Thompson will perform a thorough medical evaluation and design a personalized Sermorelin Peptide Therapy program based on your lab testing and individual symptoms to help restore your vitality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sermorelin Peptide Therapy

Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide that acts on the pituitary gland to stimulate the production of growth hormone in the body. It’s often used as a treatment for growth hormone deficiency in both children and adults. Sermorelin works by mimicking the effects of a naturally occurring hormone-releasing factor, leading to increased growth hormone secretion.

This therapy is sometimes utilized for its potential benefits in improving body composition, muscle mass, energy levels, and overall well-being, making it a topic of interest in fields such as anti-aging and wellness. However, its usage should be under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, like our physician, Mayra Thompson, MD, due to potential risks and side effects.
Growth hormone (GH), also known as human growth hormone (HGH), is a peptide hormone produced by the pituitary gland, a small gland located at the base of the brain. Growth hormone plays a crucial role in various physiological processes throughout the lifespan.

Some of its primary functions include: growth and development, cellular growth and regeneration, metabolism regulation, muscle mass and strength, bone health, immune system support, tissue repair and recovery, and brain function and mood regulation.

Growth hormone secretion naturally declines with age, leading to changes in body composition, muscle mass, and other physiological processes.
Low growth hormone (GH) levels, a condition known as growth hormone deficiency (GHD), can lead to various physical and psychological symptoms. Some common symptoms of low growth hormone levels include:

Poor Growth
Reduced Muscle Mass
Increased Body Fat
Chronic Fatigue
Impaired Performance
Thin and Dry Skin
Poor Bone Density
Decreased Libido
Cognitive and Emotional Changes
Joint Pain
Poor Healing and Recovery
Here are some potential benefits of Sermorelin peptide therapy:

Using the correct dosage is crucial for achieving the desired benefits while minimizing the risk of adverse effects.

We prescribe peptides from FDA-regulated 503a compounding pharmacies.

Sermorelin has been used in medical practice for several decades, first introduced as a potential therapy in the 1970s. Initially, it gained attention for its role in diagnosing growth hormone deficiency in children by stimulating the release of growth hormone for diagnostic testing.

All peptide programs are developed and overseen by Dr. Mayra Thompson and our medical board.

Injection Site Reactions
Headaches
Nausea and Vomiting
Dizziness
Flushing

Sermorelin therapy may not be suitable for everyone, and there are certain individuals who should avoid taking Sermorelin or should use it with caution. Here are some groups of people who should be cautious or avoid taking Sermorelin:

Individuals with Active Cancer
Pregnant or Breastfeeding Women
Severe Obesity

Certain Medical Conditions, such as a history of heart diseases
Use of Other Medications
All Sermorelin peptide prescriptions are mailed directly to the prescribed patients from the compounding pharmacy, along with a supplies kit and sharps disposal container.

Sermorelin is typically administered by injection under the skin (subcutaneously) once a week. It can be injected into the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm. Dr. Thompson will instruct you on the proper technique for injecting Sermorelin during your consultation. You will also be given a self administration guide to take home with you.

Here are the general steps for administering Sermorelin:

1. Check the Sermorelin vial for damage or leaks before use. Do not use the vial if it appears damaged or if the solution is discolored or contains particles.
2. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
3. Choose a new injection site for each injection and clean the site with an alcohol swab (included in the supplies kit).
4. Remove the vial cap and attach a new needle to a syringe. Using the needle inserted into the top of the vial, draw up the dose as prescribed by Dr. Thompson.
5. Pinch the injection site to create a fold of skin and insert the needle into the fold at a 45- to 90-degree angle.
6. Push the injection syringe to inject the Sermorelin. Keep the needle in the skin for at least 5 seconds before removing it.
7. Dispose of the needle in a sharps container and replace the vial cap.
8. Rotate injection sites with each injection to help reduce the risk of skin reactions or tissue damage.

It is important to follow Dr. Thompson’s instructions for using Sermorelin and to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about the administration of this medication.

You may also choose to bring your prescription to the clinic for storage and administration by our nursing staff.

It is highly recommended that you book your lab draw for the HRT panel so your results can be ready for your consult.

Dr. Thompson will review your lab results as well as your personal health and family health history to verify your eligibility for HRT and get you started on a personalized program.

Get started on your new Sermorelin injection program by booking a lab draw to test various health markers. You may book a lab draw by calling us at 972-685-2917 or by booking online through our portal. Labs are drawn Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 2:00pm.

This will depend on a number of factors, including your goals, your current symptoms, your health, and your current levels. The duration of Sermorelin Therapy can vary depending on individual factors and treatment goals. Some individuals use Sermorelin for a defined period to address specific health concerns, while others may use it as part of an ongoing wellness or anti-aging regimen.

Your overall health and medical history play a role in determining how long you can safely continue Sermorelin therapy. Regular medical monitoring is important to assess how your body is responding to the treatment and to identify any potential risks.

If you’re experiencing positive effects on body composition, energy levels, skin health, and overall well-being, you might choose to use Sermorelin injections for an extended period.

Dr. Thompson will conduct periodic evaluations to assess your progress and reevaluate the need for continued therapy. These evaluations might involve reviewing hormone levels, overall health status, and treatment outcomes.
Sermorelin and other peptide therapies, including Semaglutide, may be done in conjunction with hormone replacement therapy, if deemed necessary in your consultations with our physician regarding your symptoms and lab work results.

Proper nutrition plays a huge role in how we continue to generate and regenerate as we age. It is important to maintain a steady diet, and also make sure you are satisfying your micronutrient needs.

If you are looking for ways to support your Sermorelin therapy, or looking for alternatives, the Micronutrient Test would be a good start to get a nutritional baseline of needs. With your results, we can develop a custom program of infusions, injections, and oral supplements to help address your deficiencies and support your overall longevity.

Along with Vitalife’s standard New Client Form packet, you will be required to complete Dr. Thompson’s health intake forms prior to your first consultation with Dr. Thompson. It is recommended that you get your blood drawn for the Peptide Check lab test prior to booking your consultation.
